Good Water

Good Water is about how you can contribute.

An estimated 780 million people worldwide lack access to an improved water source. Instead, they use water from open sources which is often contaminated with bacteria, virus, and protozoa, and its use leads to widespread acute and chronic illnesses and is a major cause of death and misery. Waterborne diseases account for approximately 4 billion episodes of illness and 3.4 million deaths every year, predominantly among young children. In addition, the United Nations Development Program and the WHO report that 1.6 million deaths per year in developing countries are caused by indoor air pollution attributed to traditional fuels used when e.g. boiling water for drinking.

A Good Water project is a way for your company or organization to make a difference. By sponsoring a Good Water project, you provide safe drinking water to a school, hospital or perhaps a whole village in a developing country. Our Good Water projects employ SolarWave’s reliable, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective water purification technology.

How does it work?
Good Water is not only about installing the equipment. Every Good Water project begins with an awareness raising campaign on the importance of drinking safe water which we conduct together with local community leaders and NGOs. Once the purification system has been installed, local technicians are trained in its proper operation and maintenance. We periodically conduct follow-up awareness campaigns and trainings and provide spare parts and technical support throughout the project’s entire lifespan. We monitor the project’s impacts on the community and we report back to you.
